Maeva and Miya are 16 months old and time flies way too fast!

These girls are funny! They are more happy than ever and now it is easier to be around people too as they are less distant or afraid! We went to see the pediatrician and Miya is 10.1kg and Maeva 10.45kg! They are over 22lbs!!!

And that means we had to say good bye to our awesome car seats (Chicco Keyfit). We loved them!

They are changing so much now! Maeva is using her charm with charm lol! She smiles to everybody and hides at the same time! Very cute to watch!
They are kissing each other and I always wish to have my phone next to me when it’s happening because it’s nice!
Something interesting I have noticed this past month is that they make sure they have both toys or one of them will give a toy to the other… it looks like they are taking care of each other!
Maeva is a little bit dominant and can be rough but still kisses her sister!

The complicity between both!

They don’t bite, thank God (and hopefully they will not), but they push each other if one is in the way of the other! Ya come on why are you in my way?!!
Miya let it go more easily but knows to defend herself at the same time!
It’s very interesting the relationship they have.

This month was a tough month in terms of sickness. Miya stopped to eat for 5 days and I think it was because her stomach wasn’t felling very well. She never really complained but it is what I’m thinking because she eats now. Maeva vomited 15 times in one day and I had to change her 15 times… she vomited on me at the doctor appointment (nice on the hair!), in the car… but between each vomiting, she was happy and playing! No fever and no lethargy!

Double trouble!

Mateo was sick too for one day and half and me for almost 6 days (difficult to rest with three kids to take care during the day). I went three nights in a row to bed at 7pm.
We started to do a mild sleep training for the girls and now they go down very easily with almost no crying! It’s been 18 months that I didn’t sleep more than 4h straight… I can’t do it anymore…. But to tell you the truth, it is way more difficult than I was thinking!! Feeding = go back to sleep!

So it’s going to be a difficult month (especially for Dad because now I’m sending him and I put in my earplugs)… I really need to sleep I can feel that physically I can’t do it anymore… so as I was saying I put my earplugs now but instinctive Mom is there and I still wake up each time they wake up and I can’t go back to sleep until they are asleep… so I’m sending Dad but I’m awake crossing my fingers that it’s not going to last for hours…. Maeva cried almost 2 hours one night… the next night, she slept 11h straight but Miya cried for two hours…. And if it is not both, there is always one taking a turn… one night Maeva cried for a long time and I even went to sleep in their room… as soon as she fell back to sleep Miya took her turn for a long time…. I can tell you it is way more difficult to not feed them than to feed them!!!

When I was feeding them, I was half sleep and after 5 min they were fed and asleep but now it’s not 5 minutes anymore… the pediatrician told us that it will take a month to realize they will be not be fed during the night!!! Some people ask me why I don’t give them water… I can tell you I’m too afraid that after they wake up to get some water… and I don’t want that… I want to sleep minimum 6- 7 hours straight! Some parents let them cry but I can’t do it like this…. A post about sleep training will come soon!

Other than that, they eat well now. In the morning, they eat their egg (half each), some fruit and a piece of bread with almond butter… actually I should say they lick the almond butter and they ask for more… the bread is not very interesting! It is funny how they communicate! We completely understand what they want or when they are upset! Different sounds… that is it! Oh, if Miya is upset (Maeva does it too but less pronounced) she will lie down on the floor. No real tantrums yet… not looking forward to this moment!
