Maeva and Miya are 18 months old! I still remember when I gave birth to these two beautiful girls! I feel like it was yesterday! Crazy!! It’s 1.5 years ago….. I can’t believe it!
So what is new from the last two months? Really nothing much! They still don’t want to speak yet! The only thing they will say is mama, papa, baba (for Mateo) and “dodo time” (sleepy time)! I think they hear it so much at nap time and bedtime that they repeat it! It’s funny though to hear them! It’s cute!
But when it’s nap time, they repeat it and go to their bedroom (doesn’t mean they will sleep right away!) They still have two naps! I can’t really change it for now because the first one is at 10am in the car and I can’t control it! When we will be not driving every morning to go to preschool, I will change it! They often fight against the second nap but if I put 4 hours between each nap, I don’t have much problem putting them to sleep! The only problem is at bedtime because it isn’t 4 hours later and we struggle almost each night! So I’m looking forward for June to start just one nap! We might have cranky girls at night at the beginning but if it is the case I will try to put them earlier to bed! I don’t want overtired babies because it will be worse!! My concern with only one nap is that I’m afraid they will not sleep two hours and if we go for one nap for only 1 hour it’s not going to be good for everyone in the house!!!! We will see!
Maeva is now 1 kg heavier than Miya! First Miya got sick so she didn’t really eat for almost one week. She was almost eating just fruit! They are both fruitovores! Then she eats way less than Maeva! Maeva loves everything and she will never stop even when she is full! Miya meanwhile eats slowly and stops as soon as she is full! Actually she doesn’t really stop! She plays and put the food on the floor!! I’ve never cleaned so much in my life! Everyday it’s min 4 times a day to clean under their high chairs and table…
Maeva is the dominant girl for now but Miya who lets go more easily doesn’t wait to be respected! She will defend herself by hitting, biting and her new thing is pulling hair!!! Not very good behaviour and we correct it each time but in a way it is good, she defends her territory!!
Voila they are happy babies, almost easygoing babies! Maeva loves to go for a walk but Miya prefers to be held! She doesn’t want to be on the stroller but on the arm! Maybe it’s higher and she can see better!! She still walks!
Oh one thing we do wrong but we do it because we need to sleep! They go to our bed every morning… At the beginning it was at 5am but now it is 4am… I feed them and both go back to sleep until 6-6:30am… I would like to stop feeding them but they are both screaming and we can’t deal with it! Actually I should say I can’t deal with it! I can’t sleep if I hear them screaming but Andrew doesn’t hear them… Sometimes they wake up during the night and if I go to check what is happening and it is nightmare because they want to eat and go to our bed!! I like it when I snuggle with them but when they go to sleep with us I can’t really sleep well anymore… I’m worried that Andrew will roll over on them or they suffocate with the blanket (kind of unlikely as I give Andrew all the duvet and I take another blanket so the girls don’t have any on them!) .
But I will not let them cry from stress all night! So I take them and we share the bed ;)! I’m sure when they will be 10 years old I will miss this moment so I decided that I will not complain anymore about it! I’m thinking that if they wake up during the night it is because they need something but we are not able to understand well what is happening in their head!
The new thing from yesterday is that they climb on our chairs and they do it over and over! I’m afraid they will fall! So I let them practice their new skills until I can’t be near the chairs! I have to put some chairs in Andrew’s office and the others I lie down so they can’t climb anymore! It’s funny that they are so proud of what they are doing! I think soon they will not want to eat on their high chairs! It’s happening sometimes already! One morning Maeva sit next to daddy on a big chair and ate her breakfast! Funny because the plate was at the level of her eyes!!!
They love to read books and could read the same book over and over! They always make sure that both have a book! It means that Miya will bring a book to Maeva and vis versa!
Voila in the morning we are busy and we do ballet and yoga! Did they like it? I think so! They don’t really dance or practice yoga but they are laughing and seems happy to be there!
I love this period! They are hugging me, kissing me all the time! I am enjoying it because it will not last 🙁
